About Enoree, SC
Southeast of Woodruff toward the Enoree River, this community is inside our standard response radius for towing and emergency roadside calls. Enoree is a small, rural area with roughly 1,200 residents, and the calls that come from out here usually involve vehicles broken down on backroads, flat tires away from any shop, or tows that need to cover more open ground than a call from town. It borders Cross Anchor to the south and Woodruff to the northwest, so we're often working both areas on the same run. Response time typically runs 30 to 40 minutes.
Historic Enoree Mill
Enoree grew up around the Enoree Manufacturing Company, originally known as Riverdale Mills, a textile mill on the Enoree River at Mountain Shoals with 20,000 spindles and 576 looms. The mill was acquired by Chapman in 1934 and merged with Inman Mills in 1954. The town's original railroad depot, built for the Charleston and Western Carolina Railroad, was destroyed by fire in 1907.
